London Korean Film Festival starts today!
Just a reminder that the London Korean Film Festival 2010 starts today, and we have exclusive access to the screenings and several of the directors in attendance…
We’ll be bringing you regular updates, as well as full reviews and interviews with some of the filmmakers.
The festival opens tonight with the UK premiere of The Man From Nowhere, starring Won Bin (Mother), which the director Lee Jeong-beom proclaims as ‘a fusion of the essence of Korean cinema and the all-out action films of the West’ – a spectacle akin to contemporary Western action films like Bourne Ultimatum (and maybe a bit of the John Woo movies we all grew up on, but more of that in the full interview…!)
It continues tomorrow evening with a special preview of I Saw The Devil, the latest from Kim Jee-woon, director of The Good, The Bad, The Weird and A Tale Of Two Sisters, and stars Lee Byung-hun (A Bittersweet Life) and Choi Min-sik (Old Boy).
