Director and writer Philip Yung has been deservedly causing a stir with his latest feature Port Of Call after his debut Glamorous Youth and first mainstream film May We Chat, a 21st century remake of Johnny Mak’s 1983 film Lovely Fifteen. He has also been involved in scripts including Juno Mak’s Rigor Mortis and Derek Kwok’s As The Light Goes OutFollowing pulling everyone of my business cards out backed with a Hong Kong icon and taking a picture of them (!) we sat down for a nice chat at the Udine Far East Film Festival about the film, his casting of Aaron Kwok, who plays a superb character-driven role, and working with legendary cinematographer Christopher Doyle.

Port Of Call screens as a UK Premiere at the BFI Southbank on Sunday 5th November 2017 and again on Thursday 9th November as part of their ‘Who Can You Trust?’ season, in partnership with Chinese Visual Festival.
